Relay for Life
I think that everyone should get involved in Relay for Life this year at Slippery Rock University. I participated in it last year and am I participating in it this year again. It is for a great cause and represents all those who have past away or survived cancer. Almost everyone in today's society has known someone or is related to someone who has past away from cancer. Groups that form teams to walk set up tents and bring grills and games and hang out while memembers of their team walk or run around the track. Some people dedicate their time the entire lenght that Relay for Life runs which is 3 p.m. until 8 a.m. I think this is such a great way to spend your time, help out an amazing cause and get some physical activity in. I will continue to participate in Relay for Life my entire time here at Slippery Rock University and also intend to continue when I graduate college too.

classes next fall
I have scheduled my classes for the fall and my days are going to be very long. I know a lot of SRU students were very stressed with the scheduling this year. Students felt they were not able to get the classes they need to take, and unless you have priority scheduling you are usually out of luck withfinding an available seat in the important classes. Since a lot of the physical education classes are now double period Monday and Wednesday these days for me are very busy. I will have class stright through beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. no breaks in between. Even though this is only four classes in one day which is usually normal, the day is double what it seems becuase the classesare two hours long instead of one hour. It is going to be a tough fall semester but luckily the weeks fly by so fast here.

E folio
I am in Dr. Leight's Tech for PETE class and our E-folios are due on Thursday! I know a lot of people are getting very stressed out and beginning to freak a little. I really tried not to procrastinate but I am very slow and bad with anything that involves computers. (This includes the three tries at getting this blog to appear before I finally did it correctly.) I am almost done with my e-folio but the main thing that is worrying me is transfering everything from my jump drive to the Z drive. I heard that sometimes it does not transfer correctly. It took me a long time to put all of the hyperlinkings together and have them work properly. I really hope it works ok for the end project because I probably will not know how to fix it on my own. I hope everyone elses E-folios are coming along for them and they will not be pulling any all nighters like I have in the past. Good luck!!!

Movement Education
For any students that have not taken Movement Education yet I would definitely recommend taking it with Dr. Bian. I took this class with her my Freshman year and really enjoyed it. She did a really good job teaching all of the locomotor movements, as well as different little games and activities you can use in your own physical education class that incorporates the movements. My favorite part of the class was our final project. As a final project for this class we were put into groups of about ten students and were told to create a dance. Each group is allowed to chose their own music and make up their own cheorgraphy that uses different ways to move and different spaces. It was fun to watch everyone perform at the end of the class and see the costumes that everyone came up with to enhance their performance. Dr. Bian also did a whole unit on parachute games. My class really enjoyed doing these elementary activities with the large parachute and ended the class feeling like they had a workout. I learned a lot from this class and it was actually fun to go to everyday.
